After playing lethal company, I was fascinated by Zeekers and how they balanced both comedy and horror so masterfully. After looking into what other games Zeekers made, I stumbled upon The Upturned. After playing it for a few hours, I can confidently say that this game is great! A great blend of some genuinely funny and out of pocket jokes and gags to some anxiety inducing and terrifying sections, this game has given me major trust issues with hallways, floors, and mannequins and I couldn't be happier. The narrator who talks to you throughout the game, Ik, is delightfully well written. Normally I don't like pauses in the horror to have someone talk in your ear, but Ik is a joy to listen to, not only delivering some great lines, but also adding to the suspense of some sections, even if he doesn't realize it. I could praise this game more, but only so few words can capture the joy, the horror, and the anxiety this game has brought upon me!
