Has anything changed?
I've played on release and game was buggy, not optimized, end up with a refund after getting to the second planet (idk, some wild west themed early in the game). Has anything changed or improved?

Edit - Chill, people

Wel if you haven't played since release: It's less buggy and they've done several performance improvements, it runs smoother and DLSS was added (works as expected). So yes, your major issues running it may be gone.

I think it still has a way to go in terms of implementing player feedback, imo, and installation to ssd is still a requirement to be playable.

It's optimized now. Earlier this year they included FSR3 and more. Just wait until the DLC

Pretty much covers what you're asking.
Even luke stephen has acknowledged the (positive) changes judging by his last video thumbnail

Crazy how spineless the add click baiter industry is
The game has always been optimised. If you had performance issues its likely your rig.

As asked previously, were you running the game on an SSD? Per the minimum requirements? Probably best to just post your system specs.

Because yeah, Starfield has been pretty well optimized. A lot of the major bugs have been worked out. DLSS support has offered substantial performance improvements as well.

Nah the core gameplay is still the same and still very boring, check back in 6-8 years.
Wow, some people expect core gameplay to change? Do they even know what core gameplay is?

i9-12900k, RTX 4090, 64GB ddr5, SSD n2, 3440x1440

I want to start all over again with all recent updates and then move to dlc

Your specs are definitely good. I'm surprised you would have stated that the game felt unoptimized. We have practically the same specs (although I'm on an i9-13900k). Regardless, DLSS might provide improvements in terms of FPS performance.
