I really liked this game when I watched my favorite youtuber play it. It looked really good. It reminded me of stranded deep, but when i started playing it was buggy as all hell. I'm not really picky when it comes to this kind of stuff, but when its game breaking bugs. I gave it chance after chance. so waited a few months to see if they can fix some of the bugs out. I started playing again a few days ago, its just not fun. there's no survivability, all you have to do is farm coconuts and your good, also every time i hop on my boat and then I hop off it launches me up in the sky and kills me. I gave it chances, but I don't see it getting any better than this.

Reminds me of Stranded Deep, played that a few times as is fun, was most fun with a friend in Coop. I recommend that game before Project Castaway.

Bugs first. I placed a turtle shell and could drink from it anywhere I was when looking in a certain direction, even on the other side of the island. Started to build me a raft, 4 sections, 2 barrel and 2 tire sections. Added steering and 2 sails.. I never think small. Stomach was full, thirst was full but.. even in the tropics, I somehow froze to death because I was wet.. weird! So yeah, went to bed in my shelter with bed and even not thirsty, not hungry and sane, i died. Sanity is a bit a joke, it makes you sleep on the first day twice for a few hours and stops you from setting up camp. When things go well and you are not hungry or thirsty and have a big raft more or less done, why would you go insane???? You should go up in spirits, at least would be my assumption. The camp fire is the next.. you add wood for 7 hours.. their counter, not mine. But it is burned out after just a bit.. something not working. Cooking times are super short, what is fun but then again, realism gone bye bye. As it was raining all day on the second day, starting a fire was impossible, lucky I cooked some on the first day.. 2 crabs will easy get you going for 2 days. You drink coconuts as soon as you pick those up.. not how it should be. The turtle is one fast animal.. i would more have seen to pick it up and stick a knife into it instead of chasing it over the beach for 2 minutes hitting it with my ax. Mechanics, mechanics...

Haven't figured how to make ropes and I actually will not try again. Dying from being wet in the tropics is over doing it in my books. And yes, it rained all day long on my second day... really?
There is ONE coconut coming from one tree... 1! hehehe and you have to cut the palm tree down to get it. Stranded Deep was just so much more realistic, I am not sure why to play this one? I get the impression of a very unfinished game. Sharks.. I attacked one on the beach in veeeery shallow water, ankle deep. OK, were actually 2 swimming exactly over each other.

For now it is a thumbs down, it needs so much more polishing to be a survival game but once the developer claim to be finished, I will try again and change my vote if things are a bit smoother. Only issue, if they debug at the current speed, this will take years. Right now I feel a bit like I wasted my cash.
