Hope you all had a great holiday season and got some much-needed rest—we sure did! 2024 was a crazy and amazing year - we released Lightyear Frontier in March and have since then also released multiple exciting updates.

In our last post of 2024 we took a peak into the future of the Frontier, so for the first post of 2025, let’s have a quick look back at some fun and exciting data we created together.

Since Lightyear Frontier was released in March 2024, we’ve had many players join the Frontier farm life, which means you’ve all managed to do a bunch of cool stuff in the game. Let’s look at the numbers:

The most built decoration constructs apart from fences were the Clothesline, Washbasin, and Small Dala Horse 🐴

The player holding the longest playtime record has played 1174 days on their savefile in Lightyear Frontier on Steam, that is 338h played!

Our Xbox users are not far behind clocking in at 1094 days and 336h played!

The most fed animal nest was the Ratscallion nest with over 65,000 nests fed!

Excluding the standard mech set, the Hot Rod is the most popular mech set as a whole, followed closely by the Hermes and Knight sets. What set do you use the most? Let us know below! 💬

The Frontier welcomes you to play as both single- and multiplayer. About a third of you enjoy playing the game with others, but twice as many prefer playing solo — that's impressive!

You all made more than 260,000 in-game money in 2024, out of that you only spent 110,000 - very frugal of you!

The year is coming to an end which means it’s high time to let you in on some of our aspirations for 2025. In this post, we’ll break down what we’re looking forward to in the new year, and we’ll also show you some experimenting we’ve been up to. Let’s get into it!


We are so excited to share that in 2025, we look forward to bringing you, our players, closer to the Lightyear Frontier development. We have plans for large-scale experiments which we’ll need your help to explore and test.

We can’t say exactly how this happens just yet but we would love to know if this sounds exciting to you all. Would you be interested in trying out experimental features? Let us know in the comments!

Here's some of the experimental features we’ve been investigating so far ⬇️
Throughout the fall, we’ve been experimenting with some wild ideas. Let’s start off with something we think is really exciting:

Just a lil guy and their mech findin’ a sweet spot for a good ol’ farmA larger world will give you more space for your big farm dreams. The increased size will not only bring more freedom to our players but also to our developers, allowing us to explore bigger experimental features and changes together with you.

Next up - We’ve been experimenting with the Mech’s feel, which is addressing some of the feedback we’ve received from you guys. So far we’ve been aiming to get a heavier feel to it, a GIF doesn’t quite do it justice since there’s no sound but you get the gist of it! This doesn’t mean the mech has been made heavier or has been slowed down in any way, but instead, we’ve worked with effects, both sound and visuals, to emphasize the mech’s size.

Something you’ve mentioned to us once or twice - Building your own home. We’ve been investigating if we can give you more freedom in how you build your farmhouse and the potential of decorating both indoors and outdoors. Here’s how it could look:
