I've seen youtubers ring the bell and duck into the alcove before the monster goes by. But I just can't seem to do it. It doesn't matter if I get to the alcove, I still get killed. I've tried for an hour - too frustrating. Any Advise?

I would appreciate a walkthrough with normal lighting. I can not find the way out of the room after the long corridor where the statue is standing with grim face at the door. l found the note about the thief in that room but l can not find the way to move on. Thanks....
