I really want to recommend this one so I am going to give it a hesitant thumbs up at best. First off Cotton is probably my favourite cute em up series and overall one of my favourite shoot em ups. The first game is amazing and this remaster even has the original version packaged in that runs great and the remaster as a whole is awesome and the remixed music is good enough to listen to outside of the game,. Visuals and art have been greatly redone although the screen can be a bit cluttered at times. Overall from a gameplay perspective this is a 10/10.

Now for the bad and why im so hesitant to give it a thumbs up. Despite this being out for three years at the time of this review, some things are either lacking or outright broken. There is no way to change the resolution so if you have a decently large monitor it is going to look blurry. The original game looks fine and doesn't suffer too much but the remaster version suffers heavily. Another issue is you cannot play this on a steam deck, it will just crash.

While I do recommend Cotton and Cotton Reboot! If you can buy this game for the switch I highly recommend going that route. It looks much better in handheld mode and runs great on there without any issues.
