If you're itching for Zone action for half the price, try Chernobylite
Its on steam and allows you to walk the exclusion zone in a 1:1 representation of the actual area in Ukraine. Its got some base building, freaky zone stuff but overall its a fun experience. If you dont have it and looking for an alternative to STALKER 2, give this a spin

Couldn't get into it. Too jank and didn't enjoy the loop of exploring on a timer.
The experience of exploring the exclusion zone is pretty neat. I didn't mind the timer as it added a sense of urgency when you deployed into the exclusion area.

I'll give the game another go. I tried it pretty early on release. Seems it received quite a lot of patches since then.

I mean, yeah? They play differently but if you like one, you'll probably like the other?

That game had some promise and it was cool for a bit but like someone else said, the gameplay loop got stale really fast, the base building was just.. not fun to me. I would rather not have to do manual crafting and ♥♥♥♥ to upgrade the base. I'd rather do it through a menu with resources or something.
Nah play IWP mod which is very polished and easily peak stalker imo while you're waiting for Stalker 2 to get patched up or modded into glory.

Chernobylite is absolutely gorgeous, but that's about the only thing it has going.
Walking through this games version of Pripyat (did I spell that right?) is haunting and really brings on HBO's documentary, Chernobyl (which I recommend EVERYONE here watch at least once). You really get the vibes of an oldy town that was constructed just for employees (kind of like elon musks's star base city he's trying to build in Texas) that was one day occupied and the next day just abandoned. The game reflects this and more while pushing you through various other locations in the exclusion zone. One of my favorite locations in this game is the huge satellite array thats still standing to this day. Thing is enormous.
