C&C is a Roguelite Shooter with a Dark theme. Inhabit Cloaker, a caster who grieves for vengeance and whose sole purpose is to resurrect his son as you engulf celestial beings in flames of anguish. Embrace powerups and spells as you pave your path through traps filled caverns and abysses.

Bug Fixes, Visual Improvements, and Optimizations!

Cloakers,

Finally managed to squeeze in this update before the weekend! it consists of bug fixes, visual improvements, and optimizations, all based on your feedback over the past few days since free 2 play transition.

Fixed the freeze spell infinite money glitch when landing killing blow on an enemy. Freeze spell can no longer be spammed as it was unhealthy for the game. A minimum cooldown of 4 seconds has been added on top of the shots needed to recharge this spell. The cost has also been increased to 1700.
Fixed a bug where some players were getting stuck underneath the boss room for the 2nd boss-fight.
Improved and enabled smoother interactions with the Elder shop.
Pixel art for the 4th boss has been improved. The skulls from his land piece attacks are now outlined in red to make them more visible and easier to dodge (used to blend with the bckground).
Enemy positions at the start of the 2nd level have been readjusted to provide more room early on.
The game timer should now display correctly at the end of the level.
Minor tweaks to the UI
Added the Elder shop to the Boss Rush mode, which was previously missing due to a spawning issue.

That's it for now. Currently working on more UI improvements and enhancements to the end level.

Cloaks and Capes is now FREE to Play With Major Updates!

Super excited to announce that the Game is in its best ever shape to date and is now free-to-play with tons of updates!

For the past two years, Cloaks and Capes has been a paid game, and I sincerely appreciate the support from everyone who has purchased and played it. After careful consideration, I’ve decided to make it free-to-play to expand our player base and reach as many people as possible with these many updates. I believe this will make C&C more enjoyable and accessible than ever before, with:

Level Reworks,
New Enemies,
Corruption Blocks (new in-game elements),
Bug Fixes,
Overall Refinements to every aspect of the game, and more!

Hardcore Mode Changes

For all of you hardcore enthusiasts I have remodeled the enemies for this mode with lots of rebalancing to stages and made it a little bit more hardcore, try it out once you finish the game in normal or easy mode

Controller?

The controller seems to just emulate mouse. Is that how it's supposed to be? It's hard to aim this way. Even if the cursor were more visible, it's quite a delay to have to locate the cursor, find out how to get it in the right position on the screen relative to the character, as the character is moving. It seems like a "normal" approach of just aiming the direction of fire directly, rather than trying to mess with a cursor. But, I feel like when I started playing, the cursor also sort-of recentered whene...

Controller support?

I know the store page doesn’t mention controller support, but I am wondering if it might be planned for the future. This game looks pretty cool but I don’t really like to play games like this on a keyboard.

Steam Deck Compatibility

Cloaks and Capes is steam deck tested and should work smoothly on it. Just make sure you have your deck enabled in controller settings and that steam controller input is on. You can further discuss its compatibility here

Linux Feedback | It uses too much power (PSU)

The game is utilizing over 600+ watts. Compared to another game of similar styles it uses 200-250 watts (granted the game is using Unity so perhaps there's something else going on) Other than that neat game.
