Still trying to track this down - was your desktop on Windows 10 or 11, and what kind of CPU / GPU do you have?

I have a theory, that maybe your engine fails to accommodate older VR Headsets, and therefore the game doesn't work. I really don't want to refund the game and I don't think I can because I've played it for more than 2 hours. I think this will require some reworking of the engine the game runs off of.
You can switch to the beta branch by right clicking on the game in Steam and going to Properties, then to Betas, and choosing "beta" from the dropdown.
For anyone curious, this crash is caused by video codecs being incompatible with the way the Unity engine streams video files, and that's why it wasn't affecting everybody - it's only happening on machines with nonstandard video codecs, probably from some kind of streaming or recording software setup. We are going to change the way we handle video files on the TV monitors in the hallway to fix this permanently at a later date, but the beta branch resolves the crash by disabling those monitors.
Sorry it took so long to track this down!
