loving what you have done with the game, really enjoyed floor plan 1 and this is a great second game, only issue I seem to get is im ending up to near my walls in the real world, my play space is 2700mm x 2500mm, so just off 3mtr's by 2 1/2 mtr's, some games recenter you to your play space when you use the oculus direction set or steam reset height.

Thank you so much! A couple things that might help:
  • if you aim the palm of you hand at things to highlight them, you can grab from a distance with your stretchy arm
  • you should be able to recenter with the Oculus or Steam reset functions as you suggested - if those aren't working, please let us know what headset you're using and we'll look into it.
  • we're working on a seated mode for the game that will be available as a free update soon, and we'll post an announcement once that's ready

i'm playing on the Rift S, I can recenter through steam or oculus but it doesn't recenter my position like other games it just resets forward facing, I started in the centre of my play space ok. Sitting in reception at the begging level I'm fine, then I got to the first lift and I'm not centred in the lift, a little to the right side in the lift, I then step left to be in the centre of the lift, I think every time I do this I'm slowly moving around in my play space, so each time I get in the lift I'm stepping a little left and the effect ends up with me hitting the wall in real life. I'm ok with picking up objects I can see them change colour, I worked that out when I forgot to stretch out my belt and dropped my first item on the floor lol, really love what you done with the game, little things like being able to clap your hands, and the thumbs up, characters are great and being able to go into different rooms is great, thanks for the reply.

same issue with the playareacenter on my Index here. After telepointing the Center is allways on a different Spot. no gamebraker, but anoying.

Are you using snap/smooth turn, or using the defaults (no turn assist)? We discovered that it can get off center very easily when using the turn assist options (and we think we can make some improvements there) but if you are playing with default settings, it sounds like it's a different issue we need to look into.

i managing to play the game ok I just make sure I stand back in the centre of my play space and then teleport to a different area in the game and that sorts it out if I get to near to real world walls.

without snap it works fine.

Same with Oculus Quest 2. I figured out that when you use smooth turning it moves your position. I ended up on the other part of the room too. And I don't understand how long hand works. It stretches when you almost near the object, but if it is a little further than that you cant grab it. Make that distance at least to easily grab items from the floor. And please make an option that you need to push button to switch dialogues. For example woman in glasses in first room speaks almost too fast for me, I'm not native speaker so it's a bit harsh on speed sometimes. Overall game is very cool, I haven't played the first game but I look forward to play it too.

For now, the recommended workaround is to play with the default settings (no snap / smooth turn). Those settings work best in standing only or stationary play spaces, and world gets misaligned when using them in roomscale format. It's unfortunately a physics problem we can't solve completely with our game's design but we're working on some improvements that will make it harder to get into bad states.

dev why not just lock character origin to middle when turning
Masamune27858 14 Apr, 2021 @ 12:14am
excuse me, middle of playspace, not middle of current position

Yeah, taking into account that you don't move in game, just warp around.
