“DEFCON” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

I have tried reinstalling the game and have verified the game files and the game still won't start. The title is the message I am getting. Playing on a 2019 Mac (Intel)

I opened it manually from the files, then restarted my computer and got it working. LMK if this helps.

Same for me on iMac Pro (Intel) with macOS 14.2.1 (Sonoma).

First time you install it (or run the file integrity verification) do not run it from inside Steam. Go to the game files, you will see the application file on Finder. Right/two-finger click it while holding the option for the drop-down menu, and from the menu right click open. The game will open. Just needed for the first time you run it. All the others will run normally. Good luck.
