I guess you can skip by clicking

Actually I found a work around. You can't skip it by clicking, escape, enter, space. None of it, but what you can do is go in to the steam files themselves and delete All the opening cutscenes. You have to delete all of them. if you keep the studio logo intros the game crashes.

Kind of weird. I can skip it with clicking.

hmmm. Weird. I would think maybe my installation has been bugged, but I've uninstalled and reinstalled. Perhaps there's a bug somewhere that doesn't accept input during the cutscene on my system? Either way, it appears I alone had the problem and that I managed to solve it.

Nope. you are not alone. i have the same problem, have had for years. cant solve it on my own so gonna try your delete suggestion.

I searched some more and it appears the underlying issue is that your input.cfg file isnt working properly. i found a reddit post linking to a imgur post with a solution for this for the GoG version.

It works for steam too, just replace the GOG path with the corresponding steam path. now Keyboard inputs works and i can once more skip the intros etc.
