Pros
- Great, easy to pick up, hard to master gameplay with a very robust level of difficulty across four categories (hitting, running pitching, defense)

- Over 30 stock teams to start, all of which can be easily edited, tweaked, or rebuilt to your liking. Custom uniforms, colors, logos - the whole nine.

Cons
- They did something funky with the physics of the players and jerseys sometimes "blend" unnaturally into themselves.
- Former MLB players don't add a lot of value.

If you have the third game, you probably can wait for sale - 4 is an improvement from 3, but not as drastic of an improvement from 2 to 3 or 1 to 2.

Lite baseball game, fun to play. Just wish they had some type of trade system. Otherwise great!

SMB4 is an arcadey and addictive baseball simulator, which, despite in some ways feeling like a prototype for a future version of Wii Sports Baseball, satisfied my manchild craving for baseball action after recently watching the World Series. Its been a blast to play over the last 25 hrs.

While many players are interested in the management sim side of the game. So, I'd break down the core gameplay loop as 5% fielding, 40% pitching, 45% hitting, 5% baserunning, and 5% experimenting with team combinations, Its simple to learn, and does take some time to master, but the overall skill ceiling is rather low and made artificially more difficult by increased event randomness (for example in the pitching minigame homing action) rather than by any unique challenge of a developed gameplay skill.

Overall, I recommend to check it out when on sale.
