Ongoing projects not necessarily withstanding, SE announced they are going heavy into multiplatform going forward.

I hope they learned their lesson finally because its ridiculous to expect us to buy some dogmeat console that gets replaced every 4 or 5 years just to play one game. I am running low on willpower over here there is only 1 game right now that I haven't played that I want to play and that is FF7 P2.

Sounds like they probably did. I think in the case of PS5, a number of factors worked against it, like the pandemic coming and going.

I am kinda split on the multiplatform idea though. People from the Rebirth team talked about how the exclusivity is what made the game possible to be as good as it was. They received assistance from Sony and for one specific thing, they talked about how that help facilitated them being able to make the seamless open world work. Had they gone multiplatform and not had that, we wouldn't have gotten that.

I'd like the games to be their best...but I would like them on PC. Can that be done or balanced? Personally, I waited on Remake and XV. But that might be harder for R 3.

There is still a small chance for it to be released this year, because Remake was announced at TGA 2021 and then released a week later.

Also no news is good news, because for FF16 they updated us on that they are working on it, this was just after the exclusivity had ended (six months), then it released some nine months after that. So the fact that they have not said anything about Rebirth must mean that it's very near.

I think it will be released in the next four months.
The exclusive deal ended on 29th May 2024, here is the source:

So I don't know why there is no information about this game coming out on other systems. Even if they can't say a release date, I don't see the harm in saying which system this game will come out on.

Seems like the past few FFs it took awhile to get the information on where/when it was coming. Iirc it wasn't much lead time before they dropped either after being officially announced.
I'm assuming early next year for PC. I doubt it'll release on Xbox based on FF16. Honestly, I'm looking forward to a fresh board to talk about the actual game because Rebirth is quite massive and there's a lot to love and discuss!
Yeah, some of the great posters bailed to avoid spoilers as they are not adopting until the PC release. Will be nice to see them weigh in on the developments of Rebirth for the ongoing saga.

theyll be cancerous and make it another epic game store exclusive, so dont expect it on steam for atleast 2 years AFTER 2025
i still think there a surprise upcoming, new build being work on for Intergrade, Rebirth just won best storytelling and soundtrack with Mlle Briana White and Mr Cody for their performance

Look at the Golden Joystick awards
