My cloud save is gone, lost all progress?

AFAIK, this game doesn't have cloud saves. If you didn't manually backup your save files, then yes you lost all progress.

How do you do that exactly because I'm tired of losing progress every time or can yo not do it on the steam deck.

I don't have a Steam Deck but it should be possible, I guess. You must find the folder where the save file is stored:
