So, finally went after all the endings
Gods it's hard to betray people in this game. I mean, it's no evil ending of Infamous 2(Hardest fight to finish ever...just stay down man, don't make me keep doing this), but it is darn close. And that shows how good the writing is in this one. The characters just feel so alive and real, and the ability to roll back and see what the other choices do is amazing at times.

One thing I noticed during this playthru is also how reactive to the choices everything is. Some stuff from early in the game ripples out in ways you don't expect. From the big things, like how you do on a job, to just how you decide to chat with someone can have big effects on individual scenes.

And that again speaks to the good writing. You guys must have really hemmed and hawed over every little detail, and I bet you have at least one line graph of how the story branches, and how each choice ripples out, with little notes and everything for doing things from what we admit Stan does in his free time, to how he does in a combat situation. All of it really is fantastic, and gives me the warm fuzzies inside.

That of course, leads to how much it hurts to betray the people in this one. They react appropriately, and the VAs are all really good, and quite professional. They bring their A-Game to this not quite triple A game experience, doing their best to sell the roles, and with the character art, it really pops and sells the stuff.

That is one thing I forgot to compliment the last time I talked. I love how many models of each 'main' character you do. One thing I've noticed lately is in particular, how few visual novels do more than one 'smile' emotion for people, despite how unique a smile is. Happy because laughing, happy just to see you, forced to try and put on a good face, etc. You guys give a little to each. Heck, for her smaller role, Miss Dynamo gets several, including probably a better slasher smile than Scorpion for when you make her mad, and that's fantastic design right there.

Anyway, thank you for all this...and for the fast forward button too. Seriously, a real time saver when going after endings, and it really is fast, so many others lately slow down during character transitions and stuff, but you guys know since it's a visual novel, sometimes people are just trying to play through and see what wacky things they can do, and you don't begrudge them skipping around for that, don't force your players to wait around to do something.

All in all, almost a year later, and this game is still a real treat to play. Thanks for all the efforts, and I still can't wait to see what you guys do next...I'm hoping for more genre type things Fantasy, Sci-Fi, or Super Heroes again, since those are what I enjoy, but regardless, I'll be keeping an eye out.

Wow, thanks so much for the kind words and detailed feedback! And congrats on getting all the endings!

You're right, we did put a lot of time into the reactivity in the game and planning out how different choices would affect the story. That's something that's really important to us as a studio, and a big reason we made the game in the first place. So you can expect us to keep focusing on that in future titles.

It means a lot to have awesome folks that care about the little details on board for our future games -- we won't let you down!

One thing I said previously, but it really needs to be reiterated...I like that Stanley isn't us. He's still himself, with his own history, his own wants and needs. We're guides for his actions, in the immediate sense, not like omnipotent controllers that direct his every move, just people nudging him one way or another.

It allows him to be a character, and one that shines through in the best of the endings. From his relationship with the Hero in the Partners in Crimefighting ending, to the way he plays everyone for fools in the Lord Stanley ending, he's his own guy, we're just...tweaking his path through life a bit.

It's a good feeling, and lets the story evolve a lot thanks to not having to fit the player character into every scene, instead letting us direct without being the writer. That's good VN stuff right there. It even avoids tropes I hate, as Stan is never without a smart answer or at least a quip to use against those who talk to him, instead having him say stupid things because the plot needs him to not be smart to make it work.

Stan is plenty smart. He just doesn't have motivation...oh gods I just realized. He's Shikamaru from Naruto...I don't know how to feel about that. Regardless, he's fun, the world is fun, and I hope to see more of your stuff in the future...maybe with a giant robot in it next time...just saying.
