It is counted as a silent weapon... the developers even stated that in the 5.0 update
I'm hoping this can be fixed. Kills from a knife toss or stabbing an enemy in the back (ambush) are typically treated as silent kills in many games so this should be adjusted if possible.
Correct. Knife throws don't exist in the vanilla version, so an object falling down, even a knife in this case, gets registered as the equivalent of a chair being thrown or you knifing the wall. You can do it in isolation, and you won't be heard, but near other enemies, you may as well have fired your gun.
