Did you find out? I was using a video guide listed here on Steam for the collectables and upgrades and it's incorrect... I'm only at the end of Chapter 2, but I've missed one that I know of.

I played through on Kensei and still missed a skill upgrade somewhere. So, that's the only achievement I'm missing. And like you said, I gave up on a guide my second playthrough, as it was missing a bunch of stuff. I really can't say for sure, and wish I could. Sorry! I'm going to say no though, because it took me collecting every single document, etc. to get those achievements on Kensei to pop, and it didn't seem like it stacked. I had to get all of the other collectibles.

Your progression (skills, upgrades, and collectibles) doesn't carry over your different playthroughs, which definitely sucks.

Truth. I found that out playing through my final time. They shoulda tuned that up.

According to the guy that did this guide: https://youtu.be/xx4W3VDojGE collectibles do carry over to the next playthrough, thankfully.

Although, I think when I was doing it I missed 2 collectables based on an incomplete video here on Steam under the Guides section, but I still got the achievement anyway after switching to the complete guide above in Chapter 2 somewhere.

I double-checked while playing and I confirm that the collectibles do carry over to the next playthrough, even though it's not obvious. Thing is, you probably won't remember the missing items from your previous playthrough so we may as well start over with a guide...
