Play it at 24fps
It looks incredible, I've never seen graphics that simulate film so accurately like this game.

Welp someone gave you the jester award which is better than clown but ya know what?! I remembered this thread as I was playing so I flipped it into 24fps mode and it looked like crap! During gameplay anyway. The cinematics looked nice though, like watching an old samurai flick. But then I realized that it's because I have a 60 hz tv which makes it stutter unlike when watching films so I put it in 30 fps mode and you know, I kind of agree with you. It does look rather nice at a lower fps and I think I will leave it at 30.

Thanks! Not many people get it, but for the ones that do, it's something special.

it'd be nice if in the future this is possible without the judder and latency

If you want to do this without any judder and you're on SteamOS and/or Steam Deck it can be easily achieved by pressing the "..." key, setting the refresh rate to 48 hz and then limiting the frame rate to 24 using that same menu. As a bonus, this also lengthens battery life while letting you play with higher graphical settings.
