The Prince is edgier, the world more brutal, and the whole game has this intense vibe that hits different. The metal soundtrack amps up the action, making every moment more thrilling. But man, facing the Dahaka was pure nightmare fuel. Every time it showed up, my heart raced—I could feel the panic. Warrior Within really cranked up the intensity, and that’s what makes it unforgettable.

I miss this flavour of edgy. That 2000s style of edgy.

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within is really fun if you just take it for what it is. A fun, badass and super edgy power trip. This game really nails it's presentation and overall feel. With it's dark and bloody menus, the dark atmosphere and the metal music in it's score, this game oozes that reminiscent vibe that games like the old God of Wars and other of it's sort. That grim fantasy that is really campy, but really endearing if I'm to be honest.

Onto the game, the gameplay and combat is just like Sands of Time. Better or worse? I can't really tell. I will tell ya what's worse though, the story. But if I'm being frank, does it really have to be that smart? It's serviceable enough to provide a good enough reason to move forward. It goes for a more bleak tone, compared to Sands of Time, but it is not even close in terms of quality. The characters are really cool. All 4 of them. No depth obviously, but they're very pleasing to look at. Special mention to the Dahaka. I really loved the music, really fits the tone and amps up the action. Some plot twists are actually pretty good. It was interesting hopping between the past and it's future variants to see it's changes. Although I have to mention that there is quite a long period before the climax that is mainly backtracking and filler. Action pretty dead then. But despite this, I enjoyed my time with this game.

This port is pretty bad tho. Very noticeable bugs and glitches, no crashes thankfully. But without pcgamingwiki, I don't think you can play this. i can say the same for Sands of Time and Two Thrones. II would wish for port related issues to get fixed, but we all know that that's not gonna happen.

That's about it. Though not as timeless as it's predecessor, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within was an experiment that paid off in my eyes. I just see it as a unique adaptation of the Prince of Persia. Better than Forgotten Sands atleast. I see myself visiting this again in the future, when I'm craving this edgy taste.

I never got to finish this game as a kid because I had a weird bug where I would turn into the "evil version" of the prince which bricked the game every time. However, I tried replaying it today and it just hasn't aged well at all, but despite the graphics and gameplay, that's not the problem I have which is why I am not recommending it ( I played the first PoP and it was alright ), it's the absolute dogshite backtracking which makes this game unbearable.

Backtracking ruins this game, it ruined it back then, it ruins it today. Forced backtracking in any game is dogshite and it ruins the game and devs who do that should be fired.

The game is fun but bugged in a way that got me frustrating so please fix it:
The character is glitching when it climb.
The sand females warriors hard to be hit because of the acrobatic jumping that is not compatible with the modern PC emulator so I had to find a way to run from them.
Tab+shift function is not working when I want to do something else in my PC.
Xbox controller is not supported will in the game because of that the button hints is showing for the keyboard button and the camera can only moved by the mouse and slow and it is not impractical.

A classic game!

Playing it again after so long years only recalled my childhood.

The game is story rich and it even makes proper sense. Gameplay is smooth. Its marvelous.
