For me, my controller works. Make sure you use Steam Input / Controller Support (Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> "Steam Input for Xbox Controllers" or whatever controller you have. Alternatively right-click on the game -> properties -> controller -> activate Steam Input). It's no native support but rather a button layout that emulates the corresponding keyboard inputs. But it still works^^
