Text bugging out

I really like this game so far, but I'm having problems with text. Sometimes it displays properly, but most times it's scrambled/missing letters to the point of it being difficult to read. What could be causing this issue?

There's a chance the font didn't install properly

Go into the game's local files (through steam or your PC) > click www > fonts > select the truefont type file "MS mincho" and see if it needs to manually install. Hope that works!
