A sniping puzzle game set inside a nightmarish world. Extremely satisfying to pull off a series of kills and complete the in-game challenges.

Quick to play through, fun to figure out all the level challenges. Deceptively simple at first, but builds complexity nicely up to a final level which IMO toes the line between challenging and frustrating but was satisfying to finally solve.

Endless score attack mode is potentially neat but not my thing, and the game overall seems ripe for challenge/speed running and leaderboard grinding for people who are into that.

Solid Puzzle Game, some annoying sections trying to find all enemies where it becomes a where's waldo, but the solid ambience and artstyle carry it through to the landing.

pretty cool, i REALLY wish there was some mechanic to find unmarked enemies because some of the later levels have them in really weird locations and finding them is super annoying. story is okay, the gimmick levels kind of suck. this game probably would have gone triple platinum if it was on the app store in 2015

This might just be my platonic ideal indie game. Simple controls meet high-concept gameplay, with outstanding art direction reminiscent of movies like Mandy (2018). More of a score-attack puzzle game than a shooter, the campaign tasks you with efficiently clearing out cultist filled environments using only a single, telekinetically-controled rifle bullet. Pacing is tight, with a steady drip of new gameplay wrinkles to keep things interesting, and an ending that arrives well before things start to get stale. Plus there is a new hoard mode for anyone worried that the story might be too short.

If I were to nitpick, there are some problems with the UI. I accidentally reset all my progress at one point, but it didn't take long to catch back up. Otherwise, if the gameplay footage looks even remotely up your alley, Children of the Sun is a must play.
