Steam Deck OLED Black screen on boot
The game supposedly works on steam deck. My friend has had an issue on the OLED model however, that displays while in game mode.
I looked online for a solution and saw a post saying that apparently the game boots if you go into desktop mode and then if you change the game options to disable fullscreen, you can change into game mode again and it will work fine.
The problem is, that whenever my friend boots the game into desktop mode, there is no way to bring up the keyboard to type your login.
We have tried all kind of ways to bring up the keyboard, restarting the game and steam a couple of times, and nothing has worked so far.

Has anyone found any solution to boot up the game on Steam Deck OLED? (The issue seems to be OLED specific, and something to do with fullscreen)

I'm running it on the Oled. You need to switch to Proton Experimental under the compatibility settings. After that, it should just work without having to switch to Desktop mode. HDR works too

My friend managed to fix it!
If someone with the same problem finds this, here's what worked: Binding L4 and R4 to ALT and ENTER keys respectively, and then pressing them the first time booting the game, disabling fullscreen in the process.
Everything has been working well after that so far.
You know now Not repain right?
just launch in desktop mode. open up video settings and turn off full screen. Running nice and smooth now on my OLED in SD game mode.

I'm sorry, but did you even read the full post? Bringing up the keyboard was not working in desktop mode when opening the game for whatever reason.
Either way, I already worked what worked to fix it if anyone else has the same problem:

I confirm this worked.
Tori, I am having the same problem as you did. I am trying your approach by binding L4 and R4 but I cannot seem to get the keyboard to pull up still. Suggestions? Thanks

the solution is to bind it to ALT and ENTER. NOT to make them bring up the keyboard.
I don't have an OLED to test, this was happening to a friend of mine

Edit: Also, try what someone suggested above and switch to Proton experimental if the ALT + enter doesn't work

Was having issues running on OLED. Launching in desktop mode, switching off full screen worked for me. Runs good in game mode now.
if it’s a black screen from launch, go to game options, properties, compatibility, then select proton hotfix. it’s a targeted fix for this game.
