Forza Horizon 4 is now available on Steam.

Do I get the Steam version for free, if I already own it elsewhere?

It is not free, however, cross-play breaks down barriers by automatically having online players share sessions across platforms: Xbox devices, cloud gaming, Windows 10, and Steam on PC.

Do I have to be running Windows 10 to play?

Yes. Forza Horizon 4 requires the Windows 10 operating system.

Do I need an Xbox Live account to play?

Yes! You’ll be asked to sign in to Xbox Live the first time you install and launch Forza Horizon 4 from the Steam client. Additionally, creating an Xbox Live account is free, and does not require an Xbox Live Gold subscription.

If I already play Forza Horizon 4 on another platform, will my game progress carry over to Steam if I buy the Steam version?

Your save file on Steam is completely unique and separate from any pre-existing save file that’s associated with your Xbox Live gamertag, due to technical limitations. However, there are a few exceptions:

Leaderboards are one per gamertag. May the best profile win.
Clubs are one per gamertag. Join once, play anywhere.

Can I buy any of the DLC through Steam?

All of the DLC available in the Microsoft Store will be available on Steam.

Will Forza Horizon 4 be available in my country/region?

The game is purchasable in all countries where the Steam store is available. You can select your language in-game. Forza Horizon 4 supports: German, English, Spanish, Spanish (LATAM), French, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Turkish, Traditional and Simplified Chinese.
