The servers themself are "always" online (given no external interruption, like earthquakes destroying them or their connection).
If you mean variety, there is no plan or idea for a different setting yet.
Any non-playable moving animated objects are a challenge to synchronise over a network, particularly if they shall appear to have an environment "awareness" like bots. The easiest way to synchronise is if "the" server is able to determine collisions for example and distribute the result to all players. But the server is written from scratch and currently isn't programmed for this which is being a "free" call for the game code using the game engine it does. Programming a 3D collision engine efficiently into the server would be a challenge too. Now that I think about it, one might come to fruition but is not planned. When using a players game as the host for "AI" the synchronisation when switching hosts due to the original host leaving is a challenge but glancing about it now even this now doesn't appear difficult anymore, except the server software has to be extended to handle the extra data.
The original idea was to perhaps add some inanimate space sights, animated not-network synchronised decoration like cloth in front of doors and another semi-synchronised non-playable animal fitting my feel of b 2 to b 2 given players express a desire or have ideas for something to be added.
Bots currently still will be a big undertaking, I think about them.
