Ive tried multiple times. I shot them even at a distance multiple times and i still die. Im so close to the end, this is sad

The fourth evidence for the first trial is not unlocking when interacted with. The NPC in the room says it is time to go to the guard to start the trial. When speaking with the guard he states that the trial is being prepared and that some evidence is left to be discovered. Please help....
