Obviously this game is very like HW1. It's a bit buggy (100% certain hits sometimes miss, hit probabilities can be very strange, etc), but it is basically a fun game and worth playing if you can get it inexpensively.

If you like tactical RPGs, this one is pretty good! Unique level up system, good graphics, decent dialogue and humor. Good game!

The Game itself has been abandoned by it's developers and it has a huge bug in it due to it's audio being corrupted. If you're having a bug where you can't start the game just go into HardWest2_Data/StreamingAssets/Audio/ and delete the GeneratedSoundBanks folder and enjoy whatever background music you play instead.

Three years on and having a bug baked into the game that was never fixed is just wild. The game is fun but I cannot recommend a game that really just feels like a cash grab of a cult hit game especially when it have bugs in it that are game breaking yet patches come out for "balance". Fix your Audio the AKSoundSystemDLL bug being why this game can't run in 2025 is just a joke. It's also why I never beat this game it's bugs are genuinely atrocious and never got addressed. Get the first game instead, it's a classic, it has issues, but it's never going to crash due to AKSoundSystemDLL of all things.

Don't get it on sale either.
