Had a similar large update on this, 2070 and 2205...

I hope it stops me from losing my career/profile achievements. This has happened to me several times now and I read on a forum somewhere it is due to the history edition no longer doing online profile saves? Not sure if that is the case - but I know it is super-discouraging to lose progress on a profile and the achievements.

Probably an update to the launcher

You can easily bypass the launcher by temporarily deactivating the Internet when you start the game. You may have to try it twice, then it will work. Then you can activate the Internet again.

I guess Ubi$oft is in such panic-mode that they can't even take the time to post even the most basic patch notes.
