Older Game Versions & Latest Beta
Older versions of the game as well as the latest beta version are available to opt into. you may want to do this in order to preserve mod compatibility or to finish an ongoing campaign prior to updating to the latest version of War on the Sea, or to test and provide feedback on the current beta.

To opt into a different version:

1) Right click War on the Sea in your Steam library, go to properties/betas and you should have new tabs listing other available versions.

2) Enter a Password to access a particular version (see below):
Use the pulldown to select that version.
It should then begin to download.

3) When you run the game the version number should read the version you selected.

Campaign Backup Files
Whenever a campaign is loaded into a different version on of the game, a backup is made at the location (PC(requires view hidden files):
C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Killerfish Games\War on the Sea\save\campaign_backup

Here you will find a copy of the game suffixed with the version it was last saved in prior to a game update.

To restore a backup, simply revert the game back to an older version as outlined above and move the save game txt file from this folder to:
C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Killerfish Games\War on the Sea\save\campaign
