Life is Strange: Before the Storm Remastered

Whos the best mom?
I will be sending this out through lis 1, lis 2, lis before the storm and true colors + captain spirit. I will be including spread out the best ones to the worse and the side characters moms or ones that barely got enough screen time but here the list for this one! (+will include dads on a separate discussions)

●Max's Mom (she didn't get much screentime or talked about)

●Joyce

●Mrs. Marsh (Kate Marsh mom)

●Nathan Prescotts mom (I wasn't gonna put this one up since she didn't had any screen time or mention but since she would have played a part in Nathan I might aswell put it up here for discussion.)

●Rose (bascially Rachel Amber's step mom)

●Sera Gearhardt (Rachel Amber's mom)

●Claire Reynolds (okay so she was technically once a mom but I wanted to put her up here because there's some references in the lis 2 game that puts her parenting in question).

●Karen Reynolds

●the mother at the bear station in lis 2 (preety much a useless cameo but there's a good reference on her...parenting.)

●Emily Eriksen (Chris's mom from captain spirit at least mentioned in a few details)

●Wendy (Alex Chens mom)

●Ann (Ryan's mom)

●Charlotte

Joyce was a terrible mother that enabled David’s manipulative and abusive behavior.

Yep, not to mention how she thinks low of her own daughter in before the storm (which I know is expected) but if you know your daughter doesn't like him then just do it one on one with her and not together. She keeps trying to make a new family that chole isn't even ready for.

Alot of people think Joyce is a perfect 10/10 mom but I disagree, every life is strange mom is flawed (almost).
If I had to choose I would choose Joyce since they had the most on screen time by quite a lot compared to the other characters.

....well Joyce was still a side character even in before the store (as much as she did play a big part in many scenes) but another character was Charlotte that should be kept be in mind.

Well Joyce had multiple games too. Charlotte was honestly one of my least favorites. I never got the impression that they could control their emotions. Like, I feel that they can be dangerous at any moment.

Charlotte to me was at least a well written mom but considering that she wasn't raising a teen like Joyce was at the time there's not much parenting development on that part.

You have to keep in mind she did lose her boyfriend that was also pointed towards her own sons fault, she has rights to her own emotions and feelings like Joyce does and and and Charlotte even addresses this to Alex if you make the right choices unlike in the previous games where parenting isn't very addressed or characters in general.

Oh yeah I mean she was certainly decently written, and she was raising a younger child compared to Chloe(granted unlike Joyce we also don't see Ethan grow up or anything either unlike Chloe who we do see at a few different ages, young during William's time, around Max's age, in BTS and older in LIS 1). I just never liked how she blamed her kid for what had happened even though it does make a little bit of sense(it really should go towards the corporation), but also because an aspect of her character was to lash out because of it, and the two choices are basically either that she loses her identity in a sense, or she is able to continue being mad about it, but as a trade off she can still feel whatever other emotions. I just feel like she's a safety hazard to her child overall. I mean she also runs a business around drugs so there is also that.

I think her doing drugs as business was for her getting money in to support her and Ethan money wise to ALSO support her artist side. But knowing she's been there awhile it's weird that she couldn't have talked with the whole town or her boyfriend about letting the drug business go for her son (but in the game we didn't really see Ethan affected by it at all only that they didn't want Ethan around it lol)

But yeah Joyce is the only character that's a mom that has more something known more about them (via screentime) I will give the games up for portraying the emotions right on how it is parenting a teen it isn't easy lol

Ironically I'll bring a character in it that was once a mom in life is strange 2 (Claire Reynolds) and in comparison Joyce apparently would be way better because she does believe her kid should have freedom to some extent and not strict rules unlike Claire did with Karen when she was younger while Karen's dad just..thought that was appropriate but hey whatever family dynamic works for each family.
Yeah I did feel kind of mixed about Sean and Daniel's mom. Like, yeah she is wanting to be a mom now, but she also wasn't a mom for the longest time either, and only when Sean and Daniel's dad died and there was no other parent to help them. She does acknowledges her mistakes though, so respect to that, and I do get the feeling that she does in fact try. I guess for me I wish the game was much more clear about her social dynamic within the family instead of just "it didn't work out because I didn't want to be married so I left." It didn't really make a lot of sense, and there was very little detail on the matter other than just "oh look at me I'm slipping away."

Yeah, I only sympathized with her and just forgave her but it seems preety uncannon of sean to do that lol
Yeah same. Like it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I wish the developers would go back on life is strange 2 and even true colors like they did with life is strange and make some sort of ddlc or prequel of a characters life (Like with Karen's or even Alex chens family history OR just her dad in general)

Yeah I always felt that the beginning of LIS 2 was way too rushed, and I loved true colors and I felt like the opposite happened in True Colors, but both had to do with their past. There was a lot of past stuff for both games that got glossed over.
