Weapon selection
Is there a way to actually pause time while you're selecting a weapon? With as clunky as it is, you shouldn't be attacked while you're trying to select the big machine gun, it instead invariably picks the remote bomb, rendering you helpless against a horde, and you die. </rant>

PC w/ controller.

On PC (with keyboard) you can switch between weapons using the numbers. 1 = primary, 2 = sidearm, 3 = special, 4 = throwable (with hitting 4 again switching between throwables).

I'm not aware of a shortcut with the controller.

Use the keyboard shortcuts like Terathon says, or hold Q to slow time and change weapons.

I'm using a PC with a controller. There's no shortcut that I'm aware of on a controller.

oh, dunno, maybe you can map a bumper key to toggle weapons?

Pressing Y will toggle btw your primary and sidearm, but for some reason won't switch you to your special without opening the weapon selection screen.

Time is slowed but not stopped, using PC and controller, when you open up the weapon wheel. But you can still sprint (in slow motion) and select the weapon you want. You don't have to stop, so you should be able to stay ahead of the horde, unless you've left it to late. And if you've left it THAT late, you're dead whichever weapon you choose.

Right. I've beaten the game twice with a controller. If I had gotten the big hoard-killing machine gun special weapon out in time, which is what I wanted, instead of the useless (in that moment) remote bomb, I would have been fine.
