Killed Tree Sentinel without leveling up - Beat Malenia Blade of Maquita and end game boss on first attempt
New to the game, but not the dark souls series.

It "ONLY" took me 13 hours to kill the Tree Sentinel, but it taught me a great deal about the game's combat system plus I really enjoyed the challenge to boot!

I highly recommend to all other new players to attempt killing 1st boost at level 1 with only your starting equipment, because once you beat him, there is nothing else out there that can stop you! It is a very enlightening experience.

How many people here have pulled this off?

Edit: I think I broke this game... Well, to be precise, I don't think the game is balanced correctly around completionists play styles such as mine. The reason, by the time that the player does all the side content and decides to move forward with the main plot, he has become too strong for that zone.

I believe I have cleared all of Leyndell and most of MT. Gelmir except for Rykard with a lot of ease. Most bosses were defeated on the first attempt. I am now moving onto the next zone and I hope that is more challenging than the previous ones.

I am currently sitting at level 139 and the game is far too easy for me as now. I might already be over leveled for the next zone I am moving into, but I hope to be proven wrong. The game is getting boring!

Edit 2: Reached Malenia and killed her on my first attempt at level 177 with 46 vigor, 60 endurance, 50 str and replaced the Golden Halbret with the Blade of death and maxed it out. I also used the assassin summon at max level.

I believe I only have one boss in this zone left to do before I move on to the DLC and then on to the last zone. I am clocking over 200 hours play time by now, this is a great game, but no where near as challenging now at my current level.

Edit 3:

Got through the DLC... Radahn and Messmer were the last challenging bosses I encountered. Went back to lands lands between and beat the game at Level 229, defeating all the bosses in the base game on my first attempt.

The game was fun indeed, but it was not as challenging as I had hoped. At 260+ hours I think I have gotten my money's worth. It is time to move on to the next game! GGs everyone.

I did the same but not at level 1, I think my starting class was warrior so whatever that starting level is lol

Welcome! ER is a world of fun and absolutely colossal compared to the souls games, I hope you’re ready to sink all of your time into it for the next 200hrs haha

Too many people already. In fact, most wretched players do this.

I did it, but only because I am very stubborn, it's not how you are supposed to play the game.

I thought so as well. But then I met Margit.

... I was humbled. Hard.

^ I beat him as warrior as well!
I just realized that my starting level is 8 lol...

This game has been in my wish-list for the longest time. I was just waiting for the expansion before I jumped in.

I wonder if this game is going to be longer than my first play through of the Witcher 3 at 200h.

That could be argued from different perspectives. Its optional boss.
There is no way you're 'supposed to play'
There is how you can play and how you choose to play.Though not every way someone choose to play may lead to success. It varies from person to person.

Depends how you play, really. Some people I know finished it after 90 to 150 hours by roaming around but not too much. I'm already 200 hours in and I haven't finished it yet.

I really should start a new game for the sake of fighting him against without overleveling. Back when I started, I never managed to down him more than 45% of his health.

Spoke too soon! was ensnared in a chest trap by the lake south of the starting area and sent straight to hell!... namely Sellia Crystal Tunnel and specifically f**ing Fellingstar Beast!!!
Now I am really out of my league here and I am thousands of miles away from home T_T

Can anyone else help me? Me and my 7k souls are trapped in that hell escape. I died at the boss too many times to count and I see no way for me and my little pickaxe to get the job done.

I did some digging online and found the saving point location, but I dont want to just leave the tunnel without killing that foul best and recovering my SOULS!

Need an OP player to help me in co-op, it will also be my first time playing online it in this game BTW. Feel free to to message me directly to coordinate =)

Thanks!
yes not uncommon

This is too funny
i suspect a troll....

my first thought after reading your opening post was : Being able to kill Tree Sentinel at level 1 will help you close to nothing vs any other boss.
Every boss is a new moveset in ER and beating 1 boss doesnt help vs another boss
