I should've just bought original trilogy instead of this trash.
I don't think this is fixable, I tried literary everything and nothing worked. This game just isn't playable on some computers it seems, almost none of the people who have this weird directx error problem fixed it.
Whatever, this game sucks anyway. I only got Andromeda because it was in the bundle with Dragon Age, lol
I managed to fix it somehow, for now. Strangely, it was a save state that was making this annoying directx error. After I saved the game to a new slot and deleted the old one, game seems to works now without any problems.
Quite weird.
After much trial and error, I figured out that the problem lies with your save games.
Context: I played about 20ish something hours before this problem appeared for me as well.
Like all of you, I went down the rabbit hole reading up on all of the solutions people have tried.
Here's one I found effective:
1. Yes, make sure you set your page files to be system-controlled. Customizing it up to be as large as you want doesn't seem to help much.
2. The errors occur in several common instances: Conversations/cutscenes and the Tempest.
3. More importantly, the error occurs on your MANUAL SAVES.
4. The solution is thus: Only use your manual saves a couple of times. I.e.: You're playing and you need to stop. You save the game. The next time you play, load that save. When you need to stop again, DELETE THE OLD SAVE and create a new manual save. More often than not, this allows you to continue playing.
5. This is not a 100% solution. Sometimes, the game will crash with a DirectX Error even with the new manual save. In that case, do not despair. Load your last Autosave, and you should be good to go.
Now, why a AAA game developed by Bioware has problems in basic tasks like SAVING is something I can't tell you. I dare say we will never understand that one. But I find this workaround to at least allow me to continue playing.
EDIT:
This has stopped working. Now the game just stops.
Screw this game. I don't know what else to do.
