Very bad optimized for co-op so not recommended.

I've never had so many issues to launch a game before.

Not fun. Settings are messed up: we didn't see the hints. We dropped it.

Unfortunately, after spending a good amount of time playing and fully completing this game with a friend - I find myself unable to recommend it (which I know looks to be a "hot take").

From a casual gaming perspective - This game is fun in the beginning (especially when playing co-op) but this slowly fades with time. The "story" is certainly strange because - well - it doesn't really have one. There is certainly no concrete/coherent story that one would expect to see/experience.

When playing co-op the experience can be described as frustrating. Although both myself and my friend own the game - the only way to play is on Steam Remote Play. Any time my friend tabbed out of the game, I no longer had control of my character and we needed to tab in/out for a few minutes and reset from the settings menu (this came more into play when needing to look at videos/info during our 100% run).

The controls are also concerning to note - Playing on keyboard and mouse and controller are two different experiences. One can do certain things more proficiently than the other and vice versa. For example climbing on surfaces (better to be on mouse and keyboard) and reverse swinging backwards/climbing up the yarn to your friend (better to be on controller).

From a completionist perspective - I would recommend running very far away from this game. The games feel is "cozy" and "casual" but for over half of the achievements the developers said lets add in speed running! This makes absolutely no sense - Making people watch the same cut scenes 800 times when going for a speed run for an achievement is diabolical. Have to restart? There goes another 2 minutes of watching nothing happen again because there is no real story involved either (on repeat!!!)

It is no wonder why only 0.5% of people who own this game actually complete it in totality. Completion requires a lot of practice, patience and research.

In good conscious I am unable to recommend this game and am so happy to finally be done. Uninstalling immediately and am never looking back.

This is the first game I am recommending not to play. There are a lot of reasons for this that I want to break down.

Casual playthrough:

This game is a platformer made for two players. The only problem is that there is no multiplayer option. The only way to actually play with a friend is by using steam remote play. Often this is not an issue however, if you tab out of the game there were often issues with the second player’s movement upon returning to the game.

The game has a “story” that is so ambiguous that even literature majors have a hard time making a cohesive thought out of it and it shows. You follow two kids that seem to be represented by the characters you play through some environments that are often uninspired. Some levels feel like the same landscape or very similar assets.

Moving on if you are looking for a cozy feel and you don’t mind many bugs in movement maybe one playthrough would be good for you.

On to bugs there are a few that seem to be caused by a 2-D game in a 3-D setting. Most of the platforming only requires 2-D movement however to fit the 3-D aesthetic it often uses certain geometries that can affect character movement. Last thing I’ll say from a casual perspective is that controller input and keyboard input both have their downsides however, if you are going to playthrough the game with one of them I would recommend using controller.

From an Achievement hunter perspective I would not come anywhere near this game.

Most games offer many achievements linked to the core gameplay. This game throws that out the window. It says most of my player base want a fun co-op adventure. Let's make the people who want all the achievements speedrun. With that being said almost half of the achievements sit under a 1% completion rate and necessitate intentionally working towards. With a lot of them involving not dying during the level (not the worst) and completing the level within a given time. This is where the game feels awful. The controllers being unreliable don’t matter when you have no time limit but when every second matters it becomes way more frustrating. The game also does not offer a speedrun mode so every time you play a level you have to sit through long cutscenes that take away from your time. Also there are certain jumps and swings that you have to complete, that require the character to go around the lasso point. These are very difficult to complete on keyboard so for consistency you often have to leave it up to the player with a controller.

In closing the levels feel bland. The music is good but repetitive and if you are trying to 100% this game I would say have fun but it would feel like a lie. I would barely recommend for a casual playthrough as there a so many better games in the genera and I would definitely not recommend a full achievement playthrough,

Story mode is boring but the challenge levels are fun

Jugado y completado en ene 2025, en unas 8 o 10 horas. Bueno, completado en el sentido de que he finalizado los 7 capítulos de la historia. De los niveles bonus sólo he terminado 3; se trata de pruebas de habilidad y sincronización más que de pensar, y por ello me han parecido más frustrantes que interesantes. Tampoco he conseguido buena parte de los logros, dado que por cada capítulo hay 2 logros adicionales, uno por finalizarlo dentro de un tiempo concreto, otro por finalizarlo sin perecer. También me parecen unos objetivos más frustrantes que interesantes. Lo que sí he hecho es encontrar todos los secretos de todos los capítulos, lo que ha alargado el tiempo que me ha llevado completarlos... para descubrir que no había logro por dar con todos ellos.

Los 7 capítulos del juego sí me han gustado, merecen mucho la pena, son muy entretenidos, con puzzles interesantes. Controlar a los personajes, hacerles balancear y saltar de un lado a otro es muy divertido. Como en el primer juego, los gráficos son hiperrealistas y muy bonitos, y los dos personajes que manejamos son muy simpáticos.

Pero tras habe jugado muy recientemente ese primer juego, pienso que este es muy inferior en varios aspectos. La historia, si la hay, es difusa y nada significativa. La música, en mi opinión, bastante peor. Las mecánicas y manera de controlar a los dos Yarnies quedan establecidas en el tutorial, y ya no hay novedades hasta el último capítulo, por lo que la manera de moverse por las pantallas es algo repetitiva.

En cualquier caso, merece la pena. Yo lo volveré a jugar en el futuro.
