Maybe it's a secret competition or something?

I kept wondering if the developers just did not care about language and only cared about the story. They got the other bits right, so a bit of a puzzle left for us?

It is? Convince me, please.

Oh sorry, you need to live in a country where both are pretty commonplace to have know this one is contentious. Although there are a handful of swan species, the animal in the game looks more like a Mute swan of them all, but it's not - I think there's one early close up of a mute swan, but the rest of the time, it pretty much looks like no swan I've ever seen.

I may be wrong, hope the devs can id the species they modelled on, because to me, the beak looks wrong.
Beak, Neck and Feet of a Snow Goose.

I mean it's a brilliant game. But now I want to know which Swan they used, because the ones where I live don't look like the duck/water fowl in the game, and it's hard to put my finger on why, because as Mister Bonk pointed out, there are species appearance exceptions, and to me, it does not look like a Swan.

I think part of the issue is that maybe they mixed up different kinds of swans or something. I can see how the beak would look vaguely like a mute swan (but it doesn't have a sticky out bulge on top that I could see), but the main thing which made it feel like a goose was the feet, which were the same colour as the beak

Swans with that colour beak have black feet. And vice versa, there are swans with dark beaks that can have lighter feet while young (trumpeters), but then the beak doesn't match

Whereas seen tons of white gooses with matching beaks and feet (vaguely anyway, am colourblind so am avoiding saying the colours, they look orange to me, but eh)

yep, the orange beak was the general thing that told me it was probably a goose not a swan. It's a funny fussy thing, but all the while I'm wondering if it was intentional or accidental, or just our perspective.

We urgently need an ornithologist here

Maybe it's species confused? A Snow Goose that wants to be a Swan................it could happen I guess.
