Just finished my emotional rollercoaster ride through Plague Tale: Requiem, and here's the breakdown:

A Brutal But Beautiful World: The game takes you through stunning medieval landscapes, but don't let the beauty fool you. The plague is ever-present, creating a dark and dangerous atmosphere.

Following Amicia and Hugo: You play as Amicia, protecting her younger brother Hugo who has a mysterious connection to the plague rats. Their bond is the heart of the story, and it can be both heartwarming and heartbreaking.

More Than Just Running: Sure, there's some sneaking around and avoiding giant swarms of rats, but there's also crafting, puzzles to solve, and even some light combat. It keeps things interesting.

Get Ready for Feels: This game doesn't shy away from tough themes and emotional moments. Be prepared to shed a tear or two (or ten).

A Few Nits: The story can feel a bit slow at times, and the enemy AI isn't always the brightest. But the atmosphere and story more than make up for it.

Overall Verdict:
If you're looking for a beautiful but deeply emotional adventure game, Plague Tale: Requiem is a must-play. Just be prepared for a dark and intense story with some heart-wrenching moments. But the bond between Amicia and Hugo, and the stunning environments, make it a truly unforgettable experience. Grab some tissues and get ready for the feels!

A Plague Tale: Requiem doesn't drastically alter the foundation set by Innocence, but by iterating on its strengths as a character-driven fable within an oft-ignored historical setting, tells yet another tale to remember. If you liked the first part, you'll like Requiem too. Solid 7.5 out of 10.

Stunning graphically, But feels like a bit of a downgrade compared to the first game, with a disappointing story and lack of new ideas to push the gameplay forward.

In what seems like an endless sea of open world, Ubisoft level spam mediocrity and AAA devs / pubs chasing boring online only MP GAAS trends, A Plague Tale: Requiem was SUCH a breath of fresh air. We just don't get these linear action / adventure games anymore. Loved every second of it, it always left me on the edge of my seating wonder "what's next". Game didn't feel padded out or dragged out either. It was the perfect length which is also another rarity for the gaming industry that seems to push for more hours = better.

There is one set-piece in particular that I had legit goosebumps and my jaw was open the entire time. You will know what I am talking about when you see it, new games just don't have these kind of special moments anymore. But that wasn't the only setpiece. The game is constantly a roller coaster of awesome moments and environments fueled by an excellent gripping narrative and story. The rats and the tech behind them continue to impress. At points, there must have been tens of thousands of animated rats on screen at once.

The jump from Plague Tale: Innocence -> Requiem really does feel like Asobo's "Uncharted 1 -> 2" moment that Naughty Dog had all those years ago. Cannot wait to see what's next from the Plague Tale team, whatever it may be. Strongly recommend checking out Innocence and then Requiem if you haven't already.

Love both of these games, Putting this in my top 5 for sure. Not too hard but hard enough that you feel like you have achieved something great. very immersive. Made me laugh, scream, panic and cry.

An excellent stealth-driven story game, a great sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence. The game fails to introduce new mechanics late in the game, and it gets repetitive. But well-developed characters, beautiful and brutal environments and a good story keep you playing.

An absolute recommend, however, you should definitely play the first game first.

If you liked the first game, you will definitely love this one. Everything except for maybe story (and only because you already know what's happening) is better: visuals and animations, cutscenes and narrative, gameplay variety, level design and secrets/collectibles.

The only downside is that you cannot get 100% achievements in one playthrough, so you need to start a New game plus. And NG+ is a letdown: it has absolutely the same encounters and gameplay as the NG, but the enemies have lower reaction times, which is not a problem at all because by chapter 6-7 of NG+ you will unlock absolutely all upgrades (actually, it's the exact reason why you can't get all achievements in one playthrough).

Also, it seems not possible to unlock all secret chests in NG+ (because there's not enough knives that open them), so be sure to find and unlock them in NG. Also, even though they are not displayed as collectibles in chapter progression menu, you can actually replay the chapters to unlock the chests you missed on your playthrough.

Other than the NG+ being too easy and too samey, the game is a great adventure, and I totally recommend it along with Plague Tale: Innocence.
