This doesn't sound right...are you sure you're following all the steps before getting into the house?

Are you talking about the door upstairs? Try checking the basement

if you're talking about the attic door, you need to go back to the basement first where the exorcism took place, then it will tell you a 'door opens' upstairs.

Alright, solved it, I was just dumb... I didn't know you were supposed to defeat Amy before the door upstairs is accessible. Although I didn't get any notification that the door is unlocked afterwards, it was just open after defeating Amy.

i did all of that and the door still refuses to open. id be really happy if anyone could help i am enjoying the game and would like to proceed

It doesn't matter where you run or go in the house the door only opens after a certain number of expels of her. That is you see the prints on the floor, you cross in that direction and then there is four of her and you need to find the direction to cross at. That an expel and you need to do a few of them and then the door magically opens.

This not very smart and or elegant but nontheless the doors open after you've done number of these and as I've said you don't need to run back down, it just how may times you expel her in the house.

either way I've requested a refund as its painfully frustrating. When you get into that room its instant kills and no way tell how you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up other than going to youtube again as with previously how to expel her.
