how do you know if there players in online?

I've have been searching all over the map and I cannot find any players yet, I know there has to be some people playing online.

thats strange, i believe you but for some reason every online session i go in has 0 players. did i miss anything?

I believe if you press Z (or L?) you can pull up an "Online Options" screen.

From there select "Players."

It should pull up a list of all the other players in the same session with you.

bear in mind, the game map is HUGE so even if there's another 20 players in your session, it's still pretty unlikely you're going to run into any of them.

The best place to run into other players is towns, Valentine usually has some folks gathered around it.
