One good reason FF2 is the best Final Fantasy RPG made

Because in most FF games your highest level is usually 4 or 5 (Cure, Cura, Curaga, Curaja) etc. Well in FF2 you get 16? Why is 16 good? Because 16 is consenting age. So its hands down the best made in the series!

The magic levelling system is really fun, even better than the physical weapon stats. I really like leveling the magic and seeing different magic animations. Would of been a great magic system in any rpg.

I wish the mana restoring items were cheaper. Also, I think shops should have a fixed or capped price to charge for the stay, instead of charging 1 gil for each health and mana to restore. This makes it cheaper to sleep in a tent than inside a village if you have a very high health and low mana party.

That being said, I wish more games were inspired by the character upgrade system in this Final Fantasy II.

Use Osmose to replace your MP. Fight Wizards to get the spell. I never buy potions. As my game stands, I have max Gil.

Yeah, level 16 Osmose is pretty amazing. Can easily drain over 1000 total MP when split across a group of spell casters, and that actually makes it a much better Fog/Silence alternative since it can't be blocked.

I really enjoy the leveled system in this game, but it is somewhat frustrating that some spells stop adding effectiveness with level and simply increase the cost. Things like Esuna/Basuna/Aura after level 8 are just wastes of MP.
