So just to sum it up
If I want to play PvE, I'm stuck with the possibility of people teleporting aboard my ship and lose all progress in a millisecond OR I can use safer seas and make close to nothing and miss out on what seem like key features? Not everyone wants to be stuck in a mess of egotistical PvP enthusiasts. I really enjoyed this game too.

Had a recent experience with myself and 2 other friends, just sailing about on our way to sell our loot then what I can only describe as a silhouette flying through the sky drops on board says "hey" then insta-kills each one of us? No character textures, no reloading, no missing. Just a sad little man. 14/10 immaculate game.

The real question is, why did you buy a game labelled as PvPvE if you have no interest in accepting the possibility of the PvP part?

As far as the cheaters go, record & report:

There are teleporting cheaters just like in every game, but they're kinda rare.

Making close to nothing? They just gave 100% gold rewards to SS.

Yea, no emissaries, but why would you even need emissaries if gold is your only concern?

You can farm so much gold and so fast with 100% rewards that at some point you won't stuff have to spend it on, anyways.

because I'm usually a big fan of both. Just not in the case of Sea of Thieves anymore lol- every now and then it can be fun.

I must have missed this, thanks

It changed just yesterday. Used to be 30% of the gold and you could get to level 40 with Safer Seas. Now you get the 100% of the gold, but can only get to level 25 reputation with Safer Seas.

And as there are no equipment upgrades (everything is just cosmetic), earning gold doesn't really help anything anyway.

Labeled where? When do games ever have this distinction? They usually just say multiplayer

Eventually at some point the devs will have to realize there are people like you, who do not want to engage in pvp. Theyve already been starting to slowly accept this, and as time goes on and they lose more and more they will eventually cave.

Try the store page?
It gets better actually...
"Online PvP"
"Online Co-op"
"Cross-Platform Multiplayer"

Notice how PvP is actually mentioned at the top (=

"multiplayer" and "pvp" is not the same as "PvPvE"

Many games with PvP have no PvE and vice versa. Some games have both, but not at the same time.

Also, without PvE, then PvP is fruitless. So the game is actually PvEvP, as it always has been. PvE is the core game design.

I truly don't understand how this game would be fun with no pvp threat. Like maybe for 50 hours or so. But not the hundreds or thousands that a lot of people have. It's so easy to not have any pvp if thats what you want. Thats actually a skill. You can see ships well before they come near you. Learn how to run. board the enemy ship to slow them down. doing drive bys at outposts to sell the most valuable stuff. Those are always the best sessions with stories you remember.

Understand it or not, theres a demand for it. Its just up to the developers if they want to capitalize on that demand. Based on their actions, it looks like they are slowly pushing towards that.
I am with you for the majority of this. I am very much enjoying the fact that the devs are listening to the players that aren't so fond of PVP. Just found out about the gold increase to SS and that is a nice step. With everything being cosmetic though, it would be nice to be able to access all the fatures in the PvE mode. Sometimes I just want to chill out, enjoy the beauty fo the game and grind some nice easy emissary stuff.

not a huge fan of the shoot first mentality of the game overall but its understandable, the toxicity though is on another level!

Also some food for thought for the folks that seem to be really harcore anti-pve.....Imagine how much nicer it would be to play on high seas with other folks that are more willing to fight, and give a good fight, rather than running, only to find they have a couple of measly captains chests?

Making SS more useful for PVE folks would benefit both!
