Portals/teleport?

I saw/heard there was portals, what do they look like and how do I get them active? The distances I'm having to run is getting kinda far lol

The portal lady is all the way out in the desert, she can open the portals for you, but you won't have access to her until near the end of opening all the gates.

The alternative is to type in a cheat code in the options menu. imma lazy sack
It'll open all the gates, activate all the portals, and progress Fern to maximum.

Typical devs S & M make it hard to get to the first portal unlock person? Why not in the first town? Oh just use the cheat code? So I don't want to use the cheat code, Jesus? I am the masokisst?

She was in the town portal... No wonder I can't find her, Donno why she is so far now, meaningless.

Yeah. Once upon a time she was at the portal on your farm already waiting for you when you first start and she would open up the portals for you as you found them, in exchange for some of your 'essence', of course.
Moving her to a later stage would make sense if it had a story purpose and a mini quest to unlock her but moving her to the very end with no immersive reasoning provided makes no sense. It's just too much running back-and-forth now, especially for the players that want to play honestly and not use any cheats.
