I'm not upgrading.
I wasn't even that interested in playing HZD. I bought it because it was cool to see it on PC. I'm really glad I own it now that the base version can't be bought on its own anymore. Very cool to force PSN on a singleplayer game and remove access to many countries. Very cool move, Sony.

Same. The original is still on GOG and probably will remain. I don't think GOG will get the remaster. Personally, I like the original better anyway. The remaster looks better in some places and worse in most others. It runs far worse and means I have to upscale to get decent performance (still 20-30 FPS worse than original not scaled), which also means it looks 100% worse than the original, that is running much faster.

I like a couple of the new QOL settings, no loot animation, etc., but that's about it. The remaster was very "crashy" for me as well.
The forced account is just a 100% NOPE!

The remaster FOV, even on max is still zoomed in too much. Max +25 in remaster is about the same as 80 (of 100) in the original.

See here. Original = 90/100, Remaster is at max +25.

All things considered, bugs, glitches, etc... I went back to complete edition.
It's currently the better experience.
However, I will keep watching for updates to Remaster.

If we look beyond the issues and consider mods than complete edition might be the better experience even compared to a fully patched Remaster.

Out of all the mods available, I install around 25 of them, many are QoL that far surpass the Remaster QoL changes.

For example, Auto Pickup. https://www.nexusmods.com/horizonzerodawn/mods/310
Note: This was a feature in Forbidden West that is not in the Remaster.

He's using a very strange translator....or two. Perhaps Kilngon to Chinese, then Chinese to Engrisch?

I'd rather say that it's using an Italian translator into "Klingon" with a dash of magic mushrooms into the mix and then finally trying to tranlate it into English.
Either way, it sure as hell wasn't a baffling experience to assist. :baa:

Not until the PSN requirement is removed. I have no need to buy the new graphics either way, though.
apparently the sales are dismal, whether or not a gamer played it before, they've heard of it, releasing an updated 7-yr old game at full-price for new gamers on the same day a new Dragon Age drops? Oof. but Christmas is coming, so I guess we'll know soon enough if their gamble paid off. Upgrading is coming down to personal preference if not a "hard no" like no availability and PSN requirement, like Absol here, but there's no way they'll pay off that investment much less make a profit at $10usd each unless it's hundreds of thousands. they need those full-priced purchases. I guess how soon we see a "Horizon Saga" bundle of ZD:R & FW will tell us just how bad it's going. (right now: HZD - 1940 in-game, HZD:R - 1279 in-game, DA:Veilguard - 33,478 in-game.)

Oof, those numbers are terrible. They'd probably be a little better if, you know, it were available to buy in more countries.

I got this game 10 months ago and I'm like 6 hours in. I am trying to beat some of the games I actually like before revisiting but overall I think this game is very overrated. I haven't struck my final verdict yet but so far I'm leaning towards thumbs down. The one thing about this game that I truly think is exception is the graphics. So a remaster just seems really stupid to be honest. Graphics haven't improved all that much over the last decade. Just look at RDR2 or Battlefield 1 both games are over 6 years old

What games have better combat gameplay?
