same issue. would like a fix

This happened with me too, it automatically selects the monitor as audio output so so sounds, need to change audio output to headphone everytime. its frustrating

Yeah I've had issues with the cutscenes too it doesn't happen in all of them just some of them. Mostly where I think Aloy is interfacing with the holographic terminals. It's those cutscenes that aren't playing their sounds right. Hopefully they will fix this.

the fix is : Make sure that os default audio output and in game audio is the same device.

It already is it's moer tha tsom ecutscen e sounsd aer not playing as they shoul dbe lik ethe audio mix setting are wrong in those scenes.

Thank you so much. This was absolutely the issue for me. I had to load up DS4 to have the game read my controller as a xbox controller. After that, all my pre-rendered cutscenes were perfectly fine again.

Fix for PC:
Control panel --> audio --> select your headphones --> properties --> spatial audio --> turn on (Windows Sonic for headphones).
Solved the issue for me

Same is true for dualsense controllers. I changed usb cables mid game and it reset to the default audio device again as well..

Kind of annoying, but fixable by reselecting your desired output device as default in Windows after connecting your playstation controller.
