Aliens: Dark Descent - Hotfix 11/23
Hi everyone,

We released a hotfix yesterday that was aiming to fix a bug where marines were missing when creating a New Game + campaign. Unfortunately when we released the patch some players reported that it was now impossible to create a New Game + campaign using a save from a campaign dating from prior the New Game + update.

We immediatly looked into it and we fixed the issue. With this hotifx you will now be able to create a New Game + campaign and get all your marines just like it was intented. You should now be able to correctly create a NG+ campaign using a save from a campaign created before the release of the New Game + update.
Like we said in the patch note yesterday, in some cases the experience won during the Mission 11 Olduvai Dig Site will not be saved. If you want to be sure to have your marines with the experience gained during that mission please follow those steps:

1. Load your last Otago save or your last Olduvai Dig Site (Mission 11) save
2. Complete the mission 12: Redemption
3. Go back to the main menu

We are truly sorry for this unexpected bug and hope you'll have a great time playing Aliens: Dark Descent.

So I went to start a NG+ with the save that failed to load, and not only did it load in, but all my marines (including the previously missing ones) were in the barracks, ready for another go-around.

Thanks for the fix! Keep up the good work!

Also, DLC when?

I can't wait to test it out again soon !

I saw some haters here and there in the comments and really, don't listen them too much. Constructed criticism is good, hate is not. Of course we all would love more features to get an even better experience from your game, but the fact is that you already provided us one of the best Aliens game ever made, plus you're listening to your community and still working on the issues that are popping up. You could have stopped there, but you added a free NG+, which is already a great thing (especially now that it seems to be fixed aha). So really, thank you for your work and your dedication !

When some developers get the opportunity to make a licensed game, they see the opportunity to half-ass it because they think they'll just ride the popularity of the IP to make their sales. I'm really happy this game was extremely well made with a lot of care and post-launch support put into it,

I heard online that you guys don't have any plans or the license to make further story DLC, but if that ever changes I would love to play it!

New Game + wont trigger.

So i tried reloading a previous save on the Otago, went to another mission and went back to the Otago, started the end of Mission 11 and did the last stand. Ran through Mission 12 and no NG+ to choose when i start a new game.
Is the save corrupted or what is going on?

Same Issue, ran through the last few missions, finished the game and no new game+
I don't have lots of saves for this playthough as it's nightmare mode and you only get two, one on the otago and one in the mission.. I'd really rather not have to re-do the running from the beast again to unlock New Game+

I'm playing on a steam deck (GE-Proton8-6). The game runs fine if I start a new campaign, but if I quit and load a savegame, it freezes completely after I attack an alien or I complete an action (e.g. search a chest). As far as I can tell, if I don't do either of those two things, the freeze does not occur.

Completed the game today and can confirm the bug with the "Archivist" achievement is still present in the latest version... :(

Still stuck on mission 7. Lift to exit the Montero does not work. Tried reloading and playing through missions 3 times with and without a Tech on the team. I can't believe they wouldn't have implemented a button on the lift... Please fix this game breaking bug!
