No Time for Picnics! Hotfix and Major Patch Incoming!
Alright, listen up, you slugs!

This is general Spears aka Romain Clavier, your Creative Director from Tindalos Interactive HQ, reporting in!

First off, you should all be damn proud of yourselves. You've stormed the Steam platform and made our Aliens: Dark Descent one hell of a launch. You guys are some real tough hombres, and that 89% user score is a testament to your support. A big, hearty OORAH to you all!

We've received your sitreps and intel, and are prepping for a major counteroffensive.
First up, we've got a hotfix coming in hot. We're looking to airlift this in tomorrow on the PC frontlines, if those creatures wont cut the power again of course. We'll be silencing those 'Barks' you all love so much, and we're bringing in the big guns for the major crashes some of you have been reporting. Hang tight, marines we're gonna hunt those bugs!

But that ain't all, we've got a full-scale offensive planned. The first major patch is getting locked, loaded, and should be ready to ship out by next week at the earliest. We've got everything in this baby: optimizations, balancing, fix the whole shebang. We're going to be improving the hell out of your combat experience.

Finally, listen up. If you're having a good time on the ground, we need you to signal command. Give us a thumbs up and a review right here on Steam. It helps us know what we're doing right, and it helps your fellow marines find us. Do it for the Corps!

Stay frosty and keep those pulse rifles loaded. We're just getting started here. The Corps ain't paying us by the hour.

Remember, we're in this together... Oh! And stop this damn simulation training program! Get on the real field, set the game on nightmare, no permissive save granted, we wanna see your true value marines.

Thanks! Really love the game. Only things I want is a Save Option on the Otago for changes we make or upgrades we made on team members. Currently, I view all my datapads then exit the game but when I relaunch the game everything remains as if I haven't read anything. Also, please optimize the team upgrade screen. The noise grain reappears automatically on this even though we set it to low settings for post-processing and the mouse dpi rate seems to slow down on this screen. Not to mention if your Team player lvl is too low and the weapon you have unlocked doesn't meet the requirement, the weapon selection screen bugs out and everything below Pulse Rifle doesn't appear unless you hover over the empty spot. When you exit the screen and re-enter it fixes itself.

Thanks - tbh, kinda hoping the barks aren't completely silienced. It sounds (no pun intended) like they are too frequent and repetitive, but occasional ones probably add to the immersion and atmosphere.

Yeah, the Barks frenquency is going to be reduce from 10 seconds to 50 and the Move! Move! will only trigger on run and not walk anymore. I'm pretty sure this will not still be perfect but much better. Next big patch will give the option to deactivate the barks for those who want to.

Might also be warranted to suppress the ones about standing still while in a sealed room and/or after just completing a rest.

If you're going to have an option, could that be 'on - increased - normal - reduced - off (or a slider) ? In the films the marines are quite verbal, so it seemed appropriate as it was, really.

(They were a bit annoying there, too, if I remember correctly. ;)

Do not remove the orders. Expand the voice lines for more variation and reduce the frequency. That would work for me.
Definitely look at the voice lines complaining that you are stood still. I am usually thinking/planning about my next moves.
Any update on whether or not modding will be granted?

Recon 'bug'?
Not sure where to mention this but: I have a level 3 marine, now trained in Recon. I unlocked the sniper rifle, changed their secondary weapon to said sniper rifle, but when I told to switch to their secondary in deployment, she brought out a pistol. There's no sign of the rifle anywhere... (just started Berkley's Docks).
If you could reduce or limit the marines saying they've been spotted or "they heading right for us", because they often say these lines when something is no where near them.. Other than that, this game ROCKS!

I love this game, having so much fun playing it, you guys did a good job and I’m happy to see patches coming in so quick.

One gripe I have is how long it takes in the base building screens to do stuff like: assigning physicians to marines and switching between marines to do upgrades. I like that you have to hold to confirm things , but having to do it 5 times on the one marine I want ready for another mission is tedious, maybe we can assign multiple physicians at once?

Likewise Clicking on marines in the barracks and the after mission upgrade screen to view their detailed info also has long animations(though I think it’s faster to cycle through them using the bottom arrows, not sure)

Just minor things. I have also encountered a few bugs when interacting with items in missions, or when I have to carry an unconscious marine, sometimes one of my marines won’t crouch to hide from the Bugs(Xenos)!
Overall though your team has crafted an amazing aliens tactical experience! Thanks

You may be correct there! I'll have to try it again :)
