I would say some of mission are annoying. u have to wait the scan complete for an hour while nothing can be done.
Or you can take the seven days they give you and stomp your way through.
Sticking close to the water helps either way.
The only mission I've done that was hard so far was Solid Metal, but that was due more to the time limit than anything else.
They can ALL be done solo. There are a lot of tools out there, like fortification walls and wall spikes. With a little planning and preparation, it's possible to ace all those missions.
That's why mission mode is great to start. It's all about attitude - use it or lose it. There are no lasting consequences to failing since you started with nothing and you're leaving with nothing except the extra character levels and the extra time spent learning the game. So you can try different things on a mission without being afraid of ruining your permanent prospect. Plus the extra time spent gathering and building a temporary base for each mission is more practice playing the game.
