When I was a kid, I loved playing the Risk board game. However, there was a problem playing the board game. You needed 2 or more other kids who were willing to play a whole game. Playing the board game with multiple players could take hours. When I was a kid someone always had to go home before the game was over. What I love about the computer game is that you can have up to 5 computer opponents in the solo game.

What I don’t love about this game is that the AI is just good enough to be challenging, but not good enough to beat me. My record is 535 wins and 37 losses. Fortunately, I like winning, so I keep playing. When I have lost, it is because the computer opponents ganged up on me. As long as you horde armies, you will usually win. The computer opponents don’t usually horde armies. They stretch themselves out as much as possible. The computer’s strategy appears to be to take the most territories and does not focus on continents. When a computer opponent takes a continent, it does not secure the continent. When the computer takes a continent, I am usually able to break it. I am shocked how often a computer opponent will not break a continent when I or another computer player has a continent. The computer players are usually too focused on carrying out their own strategy than break a continent when another player is getting too strong.

If the people who make Risk read the comments, the AI needs to be improved.

I don’t like playing on-line, so I don’t have any comments about on-line play.

Every time I play this game, I am reminded by how much I HATE playing this game
