What Stories is this based on?

I am really interested in Lovecraft's stories at the moment, but I haven't read all of them. I would like to avoid spoilers for stories I have not read yet. Does this game spoil/take heavy inspiration from any of the books in particular?

I've not read any of the stories, so I'm not sure how accurate this is, but as far as I can tell it should only spoil parts of the Cuthulu mythos (how he is, well, awakend e.g.). The characters and settings should be original and I'd be very surprised if the story of the game started somewhere where a book ended.

I don't think this game spoils any of the original stories. It takes common elements of Lovecraft's work and weaves it's own story.

It is a original story so it has no spoilers. There is also the remake released a few days ago.
Most of Frogware's Sherlock Holmes games are 100% original stories and have no spoilers from the books, except for one mini-case from Devil's Daughter that is adapted from one of the short stories in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
