What's the meaning behind all of it. It left me kind of empty. Why Yorha was created and who actually made them. Why machines imitated human behaviors and what's the backstory of red hair sisters and emil.

- YoRHa was created by an android named Zinnia, it is explained during a recitation held on an orquesta (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-Xiv9bGcks) it's going to explain it better than me, but basically, androids were losing the battle, and they needed to create the most powerful androids ever, YoRHa were made as weapon for the androids of that time. They were hated because as you know, they were made with machine cores, androids didn't saw them as fellow androids, just tools to finally win the war.

- Machines imitated humans because they got interested in them, as Adam said during their first encounter, their creators, the aliens, weren't as complex as humans. Once they got rid of them, they were looking for their own evolution, and everything sourrounding mankind was the best stimulus they found.

- NieR Replicant has both Emil and the red hair sisters (Devola and Popola) backstory, so I won't say anything about it, it's worth to find it out by yourself.

No worries! Yes, it's a Remaster, so keep in mind that it's still a 2010 game with some improvements, gameplay-wise it's not Automata level, but it's still a good experience, it's defintely worth it now that it is on discount so go ahead

Alright i'll might give it a go and then re-play Automata again

Replicant and Automata are so far apart that their stories are fairly self contained unless you're looking for more world building, the only exception is that by playing Replicant you get more context about Emil, Popola and Devola's story since they're main characters here.

Your statement is just wrong, but I won't correct it as you just want to spoil OP lol

I only played Nier Replicant, and looking at Automata (which is set thousands of years later), I don't think its necessary to play Replicant for the story points alone. It doesn't truly connect. Yes it explains some of the basic reasons Automata world is how it is, but still Yoko Taro intended clearly for the two game stories to be independent.

Replicant is really a medieval fantasy JRPG following its own cast of characters. See it as such. And IMO its pretty nice and amazing. In an old school way.

Do you mean the Replicant's Drama CD? Afaik there's no audio books there, but yes there are some novellas compiled in the Grimoire NieR artbook, the most important one is And Then There Were None as it settles up the grimoires backstory
